1. Purpose
This policy aims to provide a clear and fair process for you or your learner(s) to challenge a decision made about the outcome of a monitoring process. This could include but is not limited to, reasonable adjustments or special considerations, assessment results, or the outcome of a malpractice or maladministration investigation.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all community members, including learners, educators, and staff.
3. Procedure
3.1 Initial Appeal
Suppose you or your learner(s) wish to appeal a decision. In that case, you must submit a written appeal to our Appeals Committee within 14 days of receiving the decision. The appeal should clearly state the grounds for appeal and provide any supporting evidence.
3.2 Review
Upon receipt of the appeal, the Appeals Committee will review the appeal and the evidence provided. They may also consult with relevant parties involved in the decision-making process. The committee will aim to complete the review within 28 days of receiving the appeal.
3.3 Outcome
Following the review, the Appeals Committee will make a decision. You will be informed of the outcome in writing, including an explanation of the decision.
3.4 Further Appeal
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of the appeal, you may request further review by an independent panel. This request must be made within 14 days of receiving the result of the initial appeal.
4. Confidentiality
All appeals will be handled confidentially and by our Data Protection Policy.
5. Monitoring and Review
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective and compliant with current regulations.
